About this artwork
Rectilinear shapes in a grid-like arrangement dominate this artwork. John Hoyland’s 28.5.66 is a study in balance and tension, where color and form interact in a carefully structured composition.
The painting presents a series of vertical and horizontal planes, each filled with muted tones of ochre, umber, and pale blue. These colors are interrupted by sharp lines and abrupt shifts, creating a sense of controlled chaos. The interplay of soft hues and rigid geometry gives the piece its distinctive character.
This poster fits seamlessly into modern interiors, particularly in spaces with clean lines and minimalist decor.
