About this artwork
A single vertical line divides the canvas. This is Barnett Newman's Abraham, a study in simplicity and depth. The stark composition invites contemplation, drawing the eye to the precise center. The right side glows with a warm, ochre field, while the left remains a deep, muted red. The dividing line, or 'zip' as Newman called it, is a crisp white, creating a sense of balance and tension. The contrast is sharp, yet harmonious, a testament to Newman's mastery of color and form. This poster suits a quiet study or a modern living room, where its meditative presence can be fully appreciated.Questions about Abraham
