About this artwork
A haze of soft edges lingers across the canvas. Abstract Picture 1 by Gerhard Richter draws you into a world where form and color blur into something just beyond reach. The longer you look, the more it shifts. This artwork layers smudged violets, pale blues, and muted yellows. The brushstrokes feel almost accidental, as if the colors bled into one another while still wet. The composition resists focus, pulling the eye in circles rather than to a single point. In a quiet study or a bedroom with natural light, this print invites slow looking. It rewards patience.Questions about Abstract Picture 1
