About this artwork
Scribbled loops and hurried scrawls cover a chalkboard-like surface in Academy. Cy Twombly’s work feels like an exercise in both chaos and control, a dance of lines and letters that never quite resolve into words. The background is a slate of muted gray, a canvas for the artist’s energetic marks. White and ochre loops dominate, some tight and controlled, others sprawling across the surface. There’s a sense of movement, of something being worked out in real time, as if the artist’s hand might still be moving across the surface. This poster brings a sense of creative energy to a study or workspace, where the mind is at work.Questions about Academy
