About this artwork
A seed germinates at the center of S. H. Raza's Ankuran. This artwork is a meditation on beginnings, on the potential held within a single point of origin.
Raza's geometric abstraction radiates outward from a central bindu, a motif recurring throughout his oeuvre. The composition is a symphony of color and form, with concentric circles and intersecting lines creating a sense of rhythm and movement. The palette is rich and earthy, dominated by deep reds, ochres, and blacks, punctuated by flashes of white and yellow.
This print commands attention in a study or library, where its intellectual rigor and visual complexity can be fully appreciated.
