About this artwork
Waves of black and white ripple across the canvas in Bridget Riley’s Arrest 1. The artwork draws you in with its rhythmic precision, creating a sense of movement that feels almost palpable. The interplay of curves and contrasts generates a visual energy that shifts as you move. Riley’s use of stark monochrome and meticulous patterns produces an optical effect that challenges perception. The repetition of shapes creates a tension between stillness and motion, making the piece feel alive. It’s a study in contrast, where simplicity meets complexity in a single frame. This poster thrives in spaces with clean lines and minimalist decor. It commands attention in a home office or modern living area.Questions about Arrest 1
