About this artwork
A quilt and pillow rest against a wall. This is "Bed" by Robert Rauschenberg, a piece that redefines the boundaries between painting and sculpture. It invites viewers into a personal, intimate space, yet challenges them with its bold presentation. The artwork incorporates fabric, pillow, and bedding, creating a textured surface that contrasts with the smooth application of paint. The brushstrokes are visible, adding a raw, unfiltered quality to the piece. The colors are subdued, allowing the textures and forms to take center stage. This print would suit a bedroom or a cozy reading nook, where its intimate scale and subject matter can be appreciated.Questions about Bed
