About this artwork
A storm of geometric forms erupts across the canvas in Wassily Kandinsky's Composition IV. This seminal work from 1911 marks a pivotal moment in abstract art, where form and color reign supreme.
The composition is a symphony of intersecting lines, bold shapes, and a cacophony of colors. Kandinsky employs a palette dominated by deep blues, fiery reds, and stark whites, creating a sense of chaos and harmony. The artwork is a visual representation of Kandinsky's belief in the spiritual power of art, where each element is carefully placed to evoke emotion and provoke thought.
