About this artwork
Above a sofa or writing desk, this poster brings the quiet drama of the Crimean coast into your space. Arkhyp Kuindzhi's Cypresses On A Seashore whispers of distant shores and salty air.
The deep greens of the cypresses contrast with the pale blues of the sea and sky. Kuindzhi's delicate handling of light and shadow creates a sense of depth and distance. The cypresses, with their dark, vertical forms, anchor the composition, while the horizontal expanse of the sea stretches out beyond them.
This print finds its home in a study, a library, or a bedroom where the calm of the sea can be a daily companion.
