About this artwork
A grid of rectangles and lines emerges in Feb 2-54. Ben Nicholson’s composition balances geometric precision with an almost playful irregularity. The artwork’s title suggests a date, grounding its abstraction in something personal and specific. The muted palette of whites, grays, and soft browns creates a sense of quiet harmony. Nicholson’s careful arrangement of shapes feels both deliberate and spontaneous, as if the forms were placed with a mix of calculation and intuition. The interplay of vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines adds depth to the composition, inviting closer inspection. This print fits seamlessly into a study or office, where its understated complexity can be appreciated over time.Questions about Feb 2-54
