About this artwork
The American flag hangs in quiet stillness. Jasper Johns' *Flag Above White* presents a familiar symbol in an unfamiliar way, inviting the viewer to look closer and question what they see. The flag's stars and stripes are rendered in a muted palette, almost blending into the white background. The texture of the paint is visible, adding a tactile quality to the image. The flag is not waving or moving; it simply exists, suspended in time and space. This poster suits a study or library, where its subtle presence can be contemplated over time.Questions about Flag Above White
