About this artwork
A serpentine tangle of black lines dominates this composition. Gilgamesh, by Karl Otto Götz, is a study in controlled chaos, where each mark seems to dance and writhe with purpose. The interplay of light and shadow creates a sense of depth and movement, drawing the eye into its intricate web.
The contrasting white background serves to highlight the complexity of the lines, their varying thicknesses adding a rhythmic quality to the piece. The overall effect is one of dynamism and energy, as if the lines themselves are alive and shifting before your eyes. The absence of color focuses the viewer's attention on the raw, expressive power of the black lines.
This poster would be at home in a modern living room or a contemporary office space.
