About this artwork
Concentric squares pulse with color in Josef Albers' Homage To The Square La Tehuana. The artwork draws the eye inward, layer by layer, revealing a subtle dance of hues and shapes.
Albers arranges four squares in a precise, nested formation. The outermost square, a rich ochre, frames a softer yellow square within. This encases a muted red square, which finally cradles the innermost square of pale pink. The edges of each square are softly blurred, creating a gentle transition between colors.
This print brings warmth to a study or reading nook, where its quiet intensity can be fully appreciated.
