About this artwork
A human skull is centered, surrounded by a halo of multicolored dots. This is I Once Was What You Are, You Will Be What I Am, a contemplative piece by Damien Hirst. The stark contrast between the skull and the vibrant dots creates a striking visual tension.
The skull, rendered in stark white, is the focal point of this composition. It is encircled by a halo of dots in various colors, including red, blue, and yellow. The dots are arranged in a circular pattern, creating a sense of movement and energy around the stillness of the skull. The background is a neutral gray, which further accentuates the colors of the dots and the whiteness of the skull.
This poster would be at home in a study or library, where its contemplative nature can be appreciated.
