About this artwork

A geometric composition unfolds across the canvas in Robert Goodnough's Light Gray - Tan. This 1978 artwork presents a study in restrained contrast, where muted tones create a subtle visual rhythm. The painting's surface is divided by precise lines and angular forms. Soft grays intersect with warm tans, forming a grid-like structure. Goodnough's careful balance of shapes and colors produces a quiet harmony, neither element overwhelming the other. The overall effect is one of measured calm. This poster suits spaces designed for focus and reflection. Its understated palette and orderly composition complement minimalist interiors, offering visual interest without distraction.
