About this artwork
A single butterfly rests on a stark plane of white. This is Longing, a study in solitude and simplicity by Damien Hirst. The delicate creature, wings spread in quiet repose, commands the viewer's attention.
The background's purity amplifies the butterfly's intricate patterns. Hirst's minimalist approach here creates a sense of calm, with the butterfly's soft hues contrasting against the unblemished white. The absence of additional elements focuses the viewer's gaze entirely on the butterfly, making its presence all the more profound.
This print finds its place in a quiet corner, a study, or a reading nook where contemplation is the primary pursuit.
