About this artwork
A grid of rectangles floats against a textured field. In Sam Gilliam's Lot And Square, geometry meets abstraction in a dance of form and color. The composition invites the eye to wander, to explore the relationships between shapes and hues.
The artwork presents a series of rectangles, each filled with a different color or pattern. Some are solid, others appear to be layered, creating a sense of depth. The background is a textured canvas, providing a stark contrast to the smooth, geometric forms in the foreground. The colors range from deep blues and greens to warm yellows and reds, each rectangle a world unto itself.
This poster brings a sense of order and intrigue to a study or office, where its geometric forms can be contemplated.
