About this artwork
A whitewashed village clings to the hillside in Morning In Mykonos. This 1960 artwork by William Scott captures the essence of a Greek island awakening to the day. The sun casts long shadows, and the sea glimmers in the distance.
The composition balances geometric forms with organic shapes. Cubist buildings contrast with the fluid, almost abstract rendering of the landscape. Scott's use of muted blues, whites, and ochres creates a serene yet dynamic scene. The interplay of light and shadow adds depth and texture.
This poster suits a study or a quiet corner where one can ponder the harmony of architecture and nature.
