About this artwork
A small town unfolds beneath a towering mountain in Murnau View With Railway And Castle. Kandinsky's early work shows a landscape alive with color and texture, before his shift to pure abstraction.
The castle perches on a hill, overlooking the town's winding streets. A railway cuts through the scene, leading the eye into the distance. The colors are rich and varied, with deep greens and blues contrasting against warm ochres and reds. The brushstrokes are loose and expressive, capturing the essence of the scene rather than its details.
This poster brings a sense of depth and perspective to a study or office, inviting contemplation.
