About this artwork
Ochre and red, a pairing that whispers of earth and fire. This is the essence of Mark Rothko's Ochre And Red On Red, a painting that balances warmth with intensity, grounded yet aflame.
A field of ochre anchors the composition, its muted tone a counterpoint to the layered reds above. The upper register glows, its edges softly blurred, as if lit from within. Thin veils of pigment shift between opacity and transparency, revealing the artist's hand in every stroke.
This poster holds its own in spaces both expansive and intimate. It asks only for quiet and a place to breathe.
