About this artwork
Above a modern sofa, this poster commands attention. Orange Downpour is a masterclass in fluid abstraction, where color reigns supreme. The artwork's title hints at its dynamic energy, yet its execution is anything but predictable.
A flood of ochre and amber dominates the canvas, bleeding into softer hues of peach and cream. The colors pool and disperse like a sunset reflected in water, creating a sense of movement and depth. Frankenthaler's signature soak-stain technique allows the pigments to blend organically, their edges soft and undefined.
This print brings warmth to minimalist interiors, its bold palette contrasting with clean lines and neutral tones.
