About this artwork
Two spheres hover in a vast field of muted tones. This is Orb, a painting by Adolph Gottlieb that invites quiet contemplation. The larger orb, a deep maroon, anchors the composition, while the smaller one, a soft ochre, floats nearby, creating a sense of gentle tension. The background is a textured expanse of umber and gray, with subtle variations that draw the eye. The orbs themselves are not perfectly round, their edges softened as if by time or memory. The overall effect is one of stillness, a moment frozen in a world of muted color. This poster suits a study or reading nook, where its understated presence can be appreciated over time.Questions about Orb
