About this artwork
A single, bold line arcs across the canvas in Jay DeFeo's Origin. This is not a sketch or a quick stroke, but a deliberate, confident mark that commands attention. The artwork is a study in simplicity and power, where less is more.
The thick, black line stands out against the stark white background, creating a strong contrast. The curve of the line suggests movement and energy, yet it remains grounded and firm. The absence of other elements or distractions allows the viewer to focus solely on the line and its implications.
This poster would suit a minimalist space, where its bold simplicity can be fully appreciated.
