About this artwork
A winged figure stands resolute against a fractured sky. Pallas Athena--earth by Grace Hartigan presents a mythic vision, where ancient symbols collide with modern abstraction. The goddess emerges from a field of ochre and umber, her form both solid and dissolving into the earth beneath her. Crosshatching and bold outlines define her presence, while softer strokes blur the boundaries between figure and ground. This is not a gentle landscape, but a place where strength and terrain intertwine. The raw energy of this composition demands attention, making it ideal for a study or library. It invites contemplation and conversation, turning any wall into a focal point of intellectual engagement.
