About this artwork
A flat-topped mountain rises above the desert floor. This is Pedernal, a sacred landmark in New Mexico, as seen through Georgia O'Keeffe's eyes. The artwork captures the essence of the landscape with a simplicity that borders on abstraction, yet remains firmly rooted in the physical world.
The mountain's ochre and umber hues dominate the scene, punctuated by the soft lavender and pale blue of the sky. O'Keeffe's signature precision is evident in the crisp lines and smooth gradients, creating a sense of stillness and solitude. The absence of any other elements or distractions focuses the viewer's attention on the mountain's imposing presence.
This poster brings the quiet majesty of the desert into any space. It invites contemplation and reflection, making it a fitting addition to a study or reading nook.
