About this artwork

A vast canvas of black stretches endlessly, punctuated by streaks of light. Peinture 227 X 306 Cm, 2 Mars is a study in contrast, where darkness and light engage in a silent dialogue. The surface is alive with texture, each groove and ridge telling a story of its creation. Soulages' signature use of black is evident here, but it's the subtle interplay of light that truly defines this piece. The light seems to emerge from within the black, creating a sense of depth and dimension. The texture is palpable, inviting the viewer to reach out and touch the surface. This poster finds its place in a modern living room, where its stark contrast can be appreciated. It commands attention, drawing the eye and sparking conversation.
