About this artwork
Sam Gilliam's Plow emerges from the bold traditions of abstract expressionism, redefining the canvas as an active field. This artwork challenges expectations, inviting viewers into a dialogue with form and space.
The composition is a symphony of draped canvas, where layers of fabric create a dynamic interplay of folds and creases. The palette dances between deep blues and fiery reds, punctuated by flashes of yellow and ochre. The texture of the fabric itself becomes a visual language, speaking through its physical presence.
This poster brings depth to a quiet reading nook or a study, where its intricate layers can be contemplated over time.
