About this artwork
Emerging from the Pop Art movement of the 1970s, Claes Oldenburg's 'Plug' redefines the ordinary. This artwork transforms a mundane object into a monumental statement, challenging our perceptions of everyday life.
The plug, rendered in soft, drooping forms, contrasts with its typically rigid, functional nature. Oldenburg uses muted grays and whites, creating a sense of familiarity yet surrealism. The sagging, deflated appearance adds a touch of whimsy and unpredictability to the piece.
Ideal for a study or office, this print sparks conversation and reflection on the ordinary objects we often overlook.
