About this artwork
A swirling mass of color erupts across the canvas in Profound Longing. Hofmann's signature style is on full display here, where chaos and control meet in a dance of pure emotion.
The background is a deep, rich black, providing a stark contrast to the explosion of color in the foreground. Shades of red, blue, and yellow dominate, with splashes of white and green adding depth and complexity. The brushstrokes are thick and textured, creating a sense of movement and energy that draws the eye.
This poster brings life to a study or den, where its intensity can be fully appreciated.
