About this artwork
Above a low console or along a quiet hallway, Range commands attention without demanding it. This early Brice Marden work rewards slow looking, its subtle shifts unfolding over time. Three vertical panels of muted gray stretch across the canvas, divided by two narrow bands of pale ochre. The rightmost section holds a single, deliberate mark—a streak of reddish brown that cuts across the field like a quiet interruption. The surface feels worn, lived-in, its layers barely visible but deeply felt. This poster suits a space where contemplation happens—a reading nook, a study, or a bedroom with soft morning light.Questions about Range
