About this artwork

A grid of floating shapes and lines takes form in Johannes Itten's Space Composition I. This artwork explores the balance between structure and freedom, using geometric forms to create a sense of rhythm and movement. The composition is dominated by a network of horizontal and vertical lines, intersected by diagonal elements that disrupt the grid. Rectangles, triangles, and circles float within this framework, their edges defined by subtle shifts in color and tone. The palette is restrained, with muted blues, greens, and earth tones lending a quiet intensity to the piece. This poster suits a study or office, where its structured complexity can be appreciated over time.
