About this artwork
A series of ascending forms create a rhythmic climb in Josef Albers' Steps. The composition is both simple and complex, inviting a closer look with each viewing.
The artwork presents a study in repetition and variation. Rectangular forms, each slightly different in tone and hue, build upon one another. The careful arrangement of colors, from muted ochres to deeper browns, creates a sense of movement and progression. The precision of the shapes and the subtle shifts in color demonstrate Albers' mastery of form and color theory.
This print fits well in a study or office, where its structured composition can complement a space dedicated to focus and thought.
