About this artwork
A variant is a thing that differs in some way from others of the same class. Josef Albers’ Study For Variant is a study in contrasts, a visual exploration of color and form. The artwork presents a compelling arrangement of geometric shapes, each interacting with the others in a delicate balance of tension and harmony.
The composition features a series of overlapping squares, each filled with a different hue. The colors range from soft, muted tones to more intense shades, creating a sense of depth and dimension. The precise placement of each square and the careful selection of colors demonstrate Albers' mastery of geometric abstraction.
This print finds its place in a modern living room or a contemporary office space, where its subtle complexity can be appreciated.
