About this artwork
A cracked desert of baked earth splits open, revealing a river running through it. This is Anselm Kiefer's The Land Of The Two Rivers Zweistromland, a landscape that feels both ancient and immediate. The painting's surface is thick with texture, almost like a relief map. Streaks of ochre and umber cut through the parched land, while hints of cobalt peek through the cracks. The horizon line is low, giving the sky a heavy, oppressive presence. Kiefer's signature crosshatching adds a sense of movement to the otherwise still scene. This poster suits a study or library, where its intellectual weight can be appreciated. It invites quiet contemplation.Questions about The Land Of The Two Rivers Zweistromland
