About this artwork
A lone horse stands in an open field. In Rene Magritte's The Lining of Sleep, the scene is both familiar and strange, a blend of the ordinary and the surreal.
The horse, solid and calm, is the focal point. Behind it, a low wall separates the field from a stretch of water, perhaps a river or a lake. The sky above is a soft blue, dotted with fluffy white clouds. The overall palette is gentle, with muted greens and blues creating a serene atmosphere. The painting's simplicity is deceptive, inviting viewers to ponder its meaning.
This print suits a quiet corner, a study, or a bedroom where its calm presence can be appreciated.
