About this artwork
A man in a dark suit stands before a floating canvas, the subject of René Magritte's The Two Mysteries. The scene is both ordinary and impossible, a hallmark of the artist's vision.
The painting within the painting reveals a woman in a blue dress, her form fragmented yet whole. A cobalt sky stretches behind her, while the man in the foreground seems to study the floating frame. The muted tones of his suit contrast with the vivid blue of the secondary scene, creating a push and pull of attention.
This print suits a study or library, where its quiet intrigue can be pondered at length.
