About this artwork
A hazy cityscape floats in the foreground. Townscape Madrid by Gerhard Richter blurs the line between memory and place, inviting quiet reflection with each glance. The soft edges and muted tones create a dreamlike quality, as if the scene is caught between waking and sleep. Buildings melt into one another, their details softened by a gentle haze. The palette of grays and muted blues lends an air of calm, while hints of warmer tones peek through, suggesting life beneath the surface. The composition feels both familiar and distant, like a half-remembered journey. This poster suits a study or reading nook, where its understated presence complements rather than dominates.Questions about Townscape Madrid
