About this artwork
A spiral tower rises into the sky, its form both architectural and organic. This is Salvador Dali's Turris Babel, a surreal interpretation of the biblical tower. The structure twists upward, defying gravity and logic, with a spiral staircase wrapping around its exterior. The sky is a soft gradient, transitioning from warm ochre at the horizon to a pale blue overhead. The tower itself is rendered in meticulous detail, with a texture that suggests both stone and flesh. The overall effect is one of dreamlike disorientation, as the viewer is drawn into the impossible geometry of the scene.
The artwork is dominated by the tower, which occupies the central space, drawing the eye upward. The surrounding landscape is barren, emphasizing the isolation of the structure. The colors are muted, with the warm tones of the tower contrasting against the cooler hues of the sky. Dali's signature attention to detail is evident in the intricate rendering of the tower's surface, which appears to be both solid and malleable.
This print brings a sense of intrigue to a study or library, inviting contemplation and conversation.
