About this artwork
A bold red rectangle floats against a sea of blue. This is Untitled (blue, Red), a work that plays with simplicity and contrast, created by Robert Goodnough in 1973.
The artwork is a study in balance, with the red form anchored in the blue expanse. The edges of the rectangle are not pristine but bear the marks of the artist's hand, adding a layer of complexity to the seemingly straightforward composition. The blue background is not uniform, with subtle variations that hint at depth and movement.
This poster would suit a space that appreciates the power of simplicity. It would work well in a modern living room or a study, where its bold contrast can be appreciated.
