About this artwork
A bold black disc floats above a rectangular form. Adolph Gottlieb’s Untitled from 1972 draws the eye with its stark simplicity and contrasting shapes. The upper sphere hovers, its dark mass balanced by the weight of the ochre rectangle below. A quiet tension exists between these elements, grounded by the pale cobalt field that surrounds them. The composition feels both deliberate and open to interpretation. This print finds its place in a study or library, where its quiet presence can be contemplated.Questions about Untitled
