About this artwork
Peonies bloom in wild abandon across the canvas. Cy Twombly’s Untitled (Peonias Series) captures the flowers in a frenzy of color and motion, as if caught in a sudden gust of wind. The petals are a blur of pink and white, set against a backdrop of scribbled green. Twombly’s signature loops and scrawls fill the space, suggesting stems and leaves tangled in the chaos. The energy is palpable, the brushstrokes almost frantic, yet there’s a delicate balance in the composition. This poster brings a burst of organic energy to a quiet corner, a study, or a hallway where movement feels welcome.Questions about Untitled (Peonias Series)
