About this artwork

A serpent coils across the canvas, its body forming the heart of this untitled work by Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri. The painting, known as Snake Dreaming, draws the eye into a world of ancient narratives and sacred symbols. The snake, rendered in bold ochre and white, slithers through a landscape of dots and lines. The intricate patterns create a sense of movement and rhythm, reflecting the artist's deep connection to the land and its stories. The earthy palette grounds the composition, while the serpent's winding path invites contemplation. This poster brings a sense of cultural richness to a study or library, where its stories can be pondered and appreciated.
