About this artwork
Sunlight glints on water in Venice, Afternoon. Howard Hodgkin’s brushstrokes capture a moment frozen in time, where light and color dance on the canvas. This artwork invites you into a serene Venetian afternoon, bathed in golden hues and soft reflections. The painting is a symphony of warm tones, with layers of ochre, gold, and soft blues creating a sense of depth and tranquility. Hodgkin’s expressive technique blurs the line between abstraction and representation, drawing the viewer into a dreamlike state. The interplay of light and shadow suggests the gentle movement of water, evoking the quiet beauty of a Venetian canal. This poster brings a touch of European elegance to any space. It fits seamlessly into a living room or study, where its calming presence can be fully appreciated.Questions about Venice, Afternoon
