About this artwork
A serpentine line winds its way across the canvas in Venus. This 1991 work by Brice Marden is a study in fluidity and restraint, where a single gesture speaks volumes.
The muted palette of ochres and umbers grounds the composition, allowing the sinuous line to command attention. Its organic form contrasts with the precise edges of the canvas, creating a tension between control and spontaneity. The background, a field of subtle variations, enhances the depth and movement of the central motif.
This print finds its place in spaces that appreciate understated elegance. It complements modern interiors where simplicity and sophistication coexist.
