About this artwork
A self-portrait hangs in quiet confidence. Wayne (101) by Wayne Thiebaud offers a glimpse into the artist's world, framed within his own distinctive style. The portrait is both personal and universal, a face among many yet uniquely his own.
Thiebaud's brushwork is loose but deliberate, capturing the essence of his subject with minimal detail. The background is a soft, muted tone, allowing the figure to stand out without competition. Warm light plays across the features, highlighting the gentle curves and subtle shadows that define the face. His gaze is steady, engaging the viewer in a silent conversation.
This art print brings a sense of calm and introspection, ideal for a study or reading nook where contemplation is welcome.
