About this artwork
A man’s face, rendered with a quiet intensity, fills the frame of Wayne Thiebaud’s Wayne. The subject’s gaze is direct, engaging the viewer with a sense of connection that feels both immediate and enduring. This portrait, titled simply with the artist’s first name, invites a personal encounter. Thiebaud’s use of soft, muted tones creates a gentle contrast with the subject’s features. The background, a blend of earthy browns and soft greens, is subdued, allowing the face to dominate the composition. The brushwork is deliberate, with visible strokes adding texture and depth to the portrait. The overall effect is one of calm introspection. This print fits seamlessly into spaces designed for reflection, such as a study or a quiet corner of a living room.Questions about Wayne
