About this artwork
The title is a signature, a declaration of self. Wayne by Wayne Thiebaud presents the artist’s name as both subject and creator, a duality that invites reflection. The portrait is minimal, yet the presence is undeniable. Thiebaud’s portrait is a study in restraint. The face emerges from a muted background, rendered in soft, earthy tones. Shadows play across the features, hinting at depth without revealing too much. The gaze is steady, engaging the viewer in a quiet conversation. This poster fits seamlessly into a study or reading nook. It’s a piece that invites contemplation, a silent companion to quiet moments.Questions about Wayne
