About this artwork
A man’s self-portrait, titled Wayne, emerges from the canvas with a quiet presence. The artist’s gaze meets ours, unflinching and direct, framed by the soft contours of his face and the gentle play of light and shadow. Thiebaud’s brushwork is loose yet deliberate, with muted earth tones dominating the palette. The background fades into obscurity, allowing the subject to command attention. Subtle variations in texture and hue add depth, revealing the artist’s skill in capturing not just a likeness, but a moment of introspection. This poster fits seamlessly in a study or reading nook, where its understated presence complements a space dedicated to reflection.Questions about Wayne
