About this artwork
A man’s portrait fills the frame in Wayne, a self-portrait by Wayne Thiebaud. The artist’s face looks directly at the viewer, creating an intimate connection. His expression is calm, almost serene, with a slight hint of a smile playing on his lips. The background is a soft, muted beige, allowing the subject to stand out prominently. Thiebaud’s use of light and shadow adds depth to the portrait, highlighting the contours of his face. The brushstrokes are visible, adding a sense of texture and realism to the piece. The overall effect is one of quiet contemplation, as if the artist is inviting us into his world. This poster would work well in a study or a quiet corner of a living room, where it can be appreciated up close.Questions about Wayne
