About this artwork
A self-portrait of the artist, rendered in soft pastels. This artwork, titled Wayne, showcases Thiebaud's unique ability to capture the essence of his subject with a gentle, almost tender touch. The composition is simple yet profound, with the artist's face and shoulders filling most of the frame. The background is a muted beige, allowing the soft greens and pale blues of the artist's features to stand out. The use of light and shadow is subtle, adding depth and dimension to the portrait. This print would look at home in a study or library, where its quiet contemplation can be appreciated.Questions about Wayne
